In light of our current health crisis, the Bicentennial Parade Committee is reinventing the Fourth of July Parade and we are excited! The traditional parade that runs through downtown is being replaced by a Cruise where spectators can drive and see displays.
The Committee invites you to participate in the Bicentennial Cruise! The idea is for community members to decorate their car, their yard, their business…anything that is stationary at a specified location from noon on Friday, July 3rd to midnight on Sunday, July 5th. They are asking that it be decorated with a patriotic theme…think lights, American flags, signs, etc.
The Bicentennial Committee will put together a Google Map and promote the Cruise by encouraging community members to drive through the city and county to see the decorations, take photos, and share the photos on social media. To be included on the Map, please e-mail the location to lisa@franklinky.info by Friday, June 19th.
Yard signs available to purchase beginning June 23rd at the Gallery on the Square for $7 with the Bicentennial logo on them. Signs can be placed in the yard or storefront so spectators will know the location is on the Cruise Route.
