SUMMARY:"Love Letters"
DESCRIPTION:The next performance for the Franklin-Simpson Community Arts Council  will be a Dinner Theatre performance of “Love Letters” written by A. R. Gurney. Under the direction of Barbara Shriver\, whom will be directing her 3rd play for the F-S Arts Council\,  the production will be held February 10th\, 11th & 12th at the Roxy Theatre in Franklin\, Ky. Steve Thurmond was chosen to play the part of Andrew Mackepeace Ladd\, III and Sherry Hall will play the part of Melissa Gardner.   Steve is the Director of the Franklin-Simpson Chamber of Commerce.  He is married to Brenda\, is a father of three and a grandfather of ten.  Sherry is a representative and advocate for Hospice.  She is married to Mark Hall and has two children and two grandchildren. \n  \nThe characters\, Andrew (Andy) Ladd and Melissa Gardner\, both born to wealth and position\, are childhood friends whose lifelong correspondence begins with birthday party thank-you notes and summer camp postcards. Romantically attached\, they continue to exchange letters through for over 50 years.  As the actors read the letters aloud\, what is created is an evocative\, touching\, frequently funny but always telling pair of character studies in which what is implied is as revealing and meaningful as what is actually written down.  Dates and times are Friday and Saturday\, February 10th & 11th at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30) and Sunday\, February 12th at 3:00pm (door opens at 2:30). Tickets are $25.00 for Friday and Saturday for Dinner and the Play and $15.00 on Sunday for the Play and Dessert only. Tickets are available at The Gallery on the Square in downtown Franklin\, 270-586-8055 or on-line at www.franklinsimpsonarts.org .
